Dear Dot and Dana,

I received a letter from you yesterday and the nice pictures. I thought they were swell. I showed them to some of the boys and my Div[ision] Officer and they all thought we had a swell place.

It must be pretty hard for you and Dana keeping the weeds out of such a large garden.

I am still here in the same place, guess it will be three or four more days before we go on our ship now.

I haven’t been on liberty yet. We rated liberty today, but as I am a little short of money I didn’t go. Our payday is the 3rd of July.

It is rather hot here but not near as hot as it was in Florida.

They have outdoors movies here for us, and I go most every night. They don’t have enough seats here to accommodate us all so many of us carries an old box or something to sit on. It sure is funny when the show is over to see us grabbing our seats and start back to our tents.

I haven’t done a single bit of work since I have been here. In fact I haven’t done any thing since I left Florida. Probably will have to make up for it later.

Well darling, what did you and Dana do [on] the fourth? Hope you went to the pond and had a good time. There isn’t much that I can write about Dot, take good care of yourself. I miss you more than you’ll ever know.

                                                                        All my love and kisses,

                                                                                    Beecher.
