Dear Dot and Dana,

Well Dot, hear I am in Treasure Island. This is a large and very nice base from what I have seen. We got in here yesterday afternoon and what a mess. The wind blows a lot out in this part of the country. And of course the air is full of sand and goes all through your clothes, after chow last night we played cards a little while then I took a shower and went to bed.

I will not be here longer than three days. Then we expect to go aboard a transport. Our officers are here and I guess now we are all set to go for a long ride. Don’t worry now kids, cause I know it won’t be dangerous, cause I think we have got to have more training someplace. I don’t know if I can mail this or not, but I am writing just the same. While I am here I won’t have any liberty they aren’t taking any chances of loosing us. We are in an out going unit section and fenced in with 3 or 4 strands of barbed wire around the tops with guards at the gates.

Well Dot, I have got to go to chow now. Will probably write again tonight. If I don’t I will write before I leave anyhow.

                                                                        Love and Kisses,

                                                                                    Beecher
