Tuesday 10 A.M

Dear Dot and Dana,

I am sitting in the sand by the Ocean taking a sun bath and writing you at the same time. Must sound funny to you. Don’t it? Gee honey, it is swell here by the water, but the tents are so thick there are thousands of them, it is so hot in my tent you cant get your breath.

I had a little work to do this morning; it only took me an hour, and had the rest of the morning to myself. This afternoon I have to go and have another physical. I don’t know what for, but you sure get checked over often.

How is everything at home? Have you got your allotment check yet? One guy said his wife got her second check when he was home on furlough. If you haven’t you must be short of money by now. I hope not, I haven’t got paid yet, but I still got four dollars kept.

The food here is good, but you have to stand in line about an hour before you can eat. And the water is warm as piss, and taste terrible. I suppose you get used to it after awhile.

How are you behaving yourself Dana? Have you lost front tooth yet? I’ll bet you would like it here, the beach is sandy. There are lots of sailors in swimming now.

I think I will go in this afternoon. Wish you were here to go in with me. Well kids, be good and don’t worry about me. I’ll see you all in a few weeks.

                                                            Lots of love

                                                                        And kisses
