Dear Anna,

Received your most welcomed letter and I am glad to hear from you and the rest of the family.

I am very happy to know that you feel that way about me and I only hope that some day our dreams and plans will come true and if fate will permit it we will be together again, I hope.

I am sorry to hear that you don’t think your mother is feeling well and I hope it isn’t anything serious and tell your mother I think she is the best Captain I ever knew and to keep up the good work.

I am very much surprised to hear about Joe’s behavior as I am depending on him to help take care of you girls while I am away of course I know you can all take care of yourselfs but it makes things a lot easier if everyone works together.

I wish to thank you and your mother and Em and I am sure that I am welcome at any of your homes and I shall only be to glad to stay with you if I should happen to get a furlough.

Tell Em I shall only be to glad to hear from him whenever he has a chance to write to me as I realize he is very busy and has very little time to spare.

In regards to the weather up here we seem to have a great deal of rain and it generally is cool in the evening during the day at times it is very warm but it doesn’t stay that way.

Since I can’t think of anything else to say I will close with lots of love and best of health to you and the rest of the family.

                                                                                                Always yours,

                                                                                                            Tony
