Dear Anna,

Have received your most affectionate letter and I am very glad to hear from you and the rest of the family and I sincerely hope you are all well.

In as much as I would like to see you the chances are very slim at present maybe later on I may get a break, so I suppose we will just have to be patient until that time comes. I want you to know that I miss you a lot and there is no need for me to repeat how I feel about you because you should know that by this time and you can be sure that I will always feel the same about you no matter what may happen.

I received the camera and I also received your package and everything is O.K. now I hope the slippers were just the right size and I like them very much. I realize of course that these things cost money and I hope that you used the money which we had in reserve and I also would like you to give Rosalie something for the camera. I’ll leave that up to you whatever you think is O.K. with me.

Most of the Boys here think that the war will not last much longer, how near right they are remains to be known.

The climate or something certainly does give you appetite because it seems to me I am always eating even at lunch time I can eat a regular meal and in 2 hours time I feel I can eat again of course we get a good deal of exercise and that might have something to do with it.

I shall be very glad to have some of your cookies as I know I will enjoy them very much.

I seem to be running out of words therefore I will close and I hope you re in best of health and taking good care of yourself.

                                                Give my regards to everybody

                                                                                    Yours always,

                                                                                                Tony
