Dearest Mother,

Well how are you by now? Well rested I hope. I do hope you took things easy last week. I’m sitting up in the chair writing. I feel fine but still can’t do too much.

The baby is fine. We bought a scale the other day and we weigh him every morning. He is now up to 6 lbs 2 oz., [and] has gained 5 oz. since we bought the scale. Not bad huh? Gash, he is cute. His little face is filling out and his eyes are so blue. His little chin comes to the sweetest point. He eats like a pig [and] still gets too much in his mouth for swallowing, so he has to gulp. He cries some but really is almost too good. The only time he gets [fussy] is when he has gas. All during the day and night he grunts and yawns and coos. [He] tries to eat anything that gets near his mouth. He is without a doubt the best and nicest child in the [entire] world. Well, he is.

Tom’s Mother is going home some time this week. The girl came today, so she’ll be broken in by the time Mrs. Gaed goes. I told you I believed that Aunt Claire Shawl came. It really is beautiful, isn’t it?

I haven’t heard from Mary or Marge since you’ve been here. I don’t know what is going to be done.

Well [my] sweet, be good. The baby I believe is taking on some of our looks- Hot dog. [All my] love to Daddy and Walt.

Love,

       Majoirie
