Dearest Family,

I certainly was glad to get your letter yesterday.  I laughed and cried but now I feel just happy.

Tommie is coming along just fine.  I have never seen a child lift his head the way he can.  He doesn’t cry much.  Eats like a pig and all in all tries to be a very good child.  Yesterday (Tuesday) I went to the bathroom and felt mighty funny, but I managed to do OK.  I also went this morning.  Other than that, I’m still taking it very easy in bed.

I think it was wonderful of Mrs. Anikin to be so sweet and considerate.  Bless her heart, and give her my love.

Daddy, that was the nicest letter you sent me.  I know you are very proud of your grandson.  He really is cute enough to eat.  Thanks Mom for the book and bless your heart for thinking of us.  But that’s all you’ve ever done is just think about other people instead of yourself.

I really do miss you, Mother.  We’re getting along OK though, so don’t worry.

Take things easy now.  I’ll write soon again.

Aunt Eloise’s shawl came.  It is beautiful.  She also sent a baby cap and a cute toy.

Old Tommie is sleeping away and his stomach I don’t even hear a grunt.

Be good, be careful, and take it easy.

Love,

Mary Ann
