Wednesday Night

Dear “Sis”,

How is every thing with you and the rest of the “kids”?  Fine I hope and all well.  I got a v-mail from you tonight of February 17th and also the one from that Frank.  It has no date and I am sure his words will all photograph fine too, all one inch high.  That boy is really one pair and how. Just as crazy as ever.  I got a letter from Miss Lewis also tonight of February 14th and one from Butch and two Leaders, January issue too.

I just got in and washed up a little.   I won’t have long to nap either because I am on that last shift of “Honor Detail” again tonight.

It is really getting nice here now.  Real old spring weather, but we don’t have time to get that “fever” though.  I really feel whipped down tonight.  I am not as young as I used to be you know.  Maybe I just don’t get the proper exercise that the nurse prescribed for the Baby.  Ha-ha.  Did you tell her what I said?  Well, I don’t mind working night and day if we can just get this mess over with.  Hours don’t mean a thing to me over here to loaf around in.  I don’t care about a pass, day off, furlough or nothing else over here.  All I am working and looking forward to is staring that Lady of Liberty in the face, and if she ever sees me again after that, she will have to turn around to peep at my mug.

I am glad you all got some more of my letters.  I am sure they will gradually stumble in, just have patience and “sweat ‘em out” as we say and do also.

We really had a good dinner today.  Best steak I believe I have ever tasted over on this side.  I didn’t get in until pretty late.  They were just about cleaning up, but the cook had some good meat saved for the stragglers.  I really got plenty, and they had some good catsup to go with it.  We had creamed “jerky” again tonight though, but plenty of good applesauce to go with it.  It was a special, too, and you know how I love that stuff.  I wonder if that “mealy” has come up for air yet.  She must be holding up pretty good. I wonder how you decided on that “blizzard” you promised to give for her. Ha-ha.

Miss Lewis wrote me tonight about the pictures that are coming.  Said the one of the “Sweater Girl” was terrible except for the legs.  She said they were pretty.  Well, I know they always were, but I am wondering what the hell was wrong the “Sweater”.  Hope I don’t [compare] that.

Well, guess this is all for now, so take good care of yourself and the rest of the “kids” for me.  I hope I can soon relieve you of the job “Sis”.  I miss you all a lot, and I love you all so much.

Love and kisses to my “Little Brother”

                        Always – Brother
