Friday night

Dear “Sis,”

How is everything going there by now? O.K., I hope and that you all are well.

I hope the weather is much better there by now on you all. It really has turned warm here. Most all of the snow has gone bye-bye now. I hope it stays so too. We have mud though in the place of it where there is no hard surface thaw. Today was old Mr. Ground Hog’s day so maybe it will change now.

I didn’t get any better tonight. I did get some papers and a box with a homemade fruit cake in it from Mrs. Lewis though. It was swell & kept alright.

I guess you folks are really listening to the news now sure enough. Things really do sound pretty good now & I think these Jerrie’s number is just about up. Reckon by now they know what these soda jerks, farm boys & night ramblers of Uncle Sam’s are made out of.

I really got a nice letter from that “Beats” the other night. She has that Bennie on the ball by now again.

I guess I will go in town tomorrow night & blow my pay on another good steak feed. I got to have a haircut too. I don’t guess you would know your Little Brother tonight. I haven’t shaved since Sunday & I need a hair cut so I just got stubborn & said I wouldn’t shave until I get my ears covered again. Moore just said he believed the Dude was slipping. I have been pretty busy though & I just let it slip by you know, and then Sunday is my day off.

Hope “C.T.” has not worried you women folks too much this bad weather. Ha-Ha. I am glad he had to rest though, I am afraid when I get there I won’t even have a job at the rate he goes. I hope those Negroes don’t worry him too much.

How are “Birdie Ann” & that Rosie making out these days? Hope she is helping “mom” out alright. Does she still model things for you like she used to do? Ha-Ha.

I wonder if that Frank got in on that pass O.K., that guy really gets more passes & furloughs than any G.I. I know of.

I know you would have enjoyed that letter “Skittledinks” wrote me about their college & social activities. They really must be leading Mrs. Richards on a chase.

How is that [Nonnie?] getting on now? Hope she is O.K. by now, and not using Ralph for a wet nurse still.

Guess this is all for now. No news much, just the same old stuff that you all know by heart. I am O.K. so don’t worry about me; just take good care of your own selves for me.

                                                                        Bye now & nighty-night

                                                                                    Loves & Kisses
