Friday Evening [Feb. 27, 1942]

My dearest Nick:

Received your letter this morning, honey, and I was very happy to get your letter this morning. Honey, I am well and very happy.

Honey, it doesn’t seem three months that you have been in the army. It seems ages, dear, to one since I last saw you and that was four weeks ago. I, also, know that I won’t sleep when you are on you furlough. Honey, many lonely things will happen then, we mustn’t bank too much in your furlough.

Honey, I didn’t work at all for inspection.  I did open boxes and waiter on customers, but I didn’t do any cleaning. Do you want to know why dear? I asked Johnnie to put in for [a] raise and he refused. So, dearest, I’m not going to be overworking myself. Esta and I are planning on going to Baltimore and I’m going to get a suit.

Honey, I’m sending all the pictures whether they are good or bad. I want you to see them, too, honey, for I love you. Yes, I love you, dear, with all my heart.

Honey, I'm running on here again. My honey, do you realize that I love you? I'm sitting in up bed and writing to you and loving you at the same time. Also, we have a big date on tomorrow evening. I love you, honey, with all my heart, and I'm true to you for my love is true. Oh, my darling, if you were only here to take me in your arms.

Honey, I haven’t hit 175 yet, maybe someday … I remember everything that happened in [room] 814, not a thing will I forget. I love you, my darling, very much.

Honey, I'm going to close now and will see you again tomorrow. All my love and kisses are going to you only. May God Bless you, dear.

            Goodnight, honey,

            Lovingly yours,

            Rose
