Dear Bud,

Am still waiting for a letter.  Expect one of these days I will get one.  There isn’t much to tell.  Just the same old thing everyday.  I hope you are well and seeing lots of new things.

Everyone seems to think the European war will soon be over.  I hope if you are there you come thru fine.  There is lots to see over there.  Here is a clipping of Joe Foss I thought you would like to see.

Am getting two boxes ready to send you for Christmas.  Expect to get them off by Monday “9.”  Cigarettes are so hard to find.  We are short on butter, cream, and cigarettes right now in the stores.

Well so long Son, I’ll write again next week so you should get a few when they come.

                                                                        Always,

                                                                                    Mom
