Sweet and lovely,

Here is one of those daily notes and it will be only a note my little bug for I wrote myself out yesterday in a long letter to you. Absolutely nothing has happened since then except that golf game I mentioned I was going to treat myself to. I did. It would have been better if I had not. My coordination was terrible, my eyesight worse, my caddie terrible and the score horrible. It will take me some time to get over such an exhibition.

I read a long letter from General Harmon Written on January 1st this morning. Not to me but to one of the Generals here. He is not in a position of independent command there as yet but is acting as deputy commander to a Marine General who is the head gazebo and states the he is not in a position to ask for anyone yet. He stated that he would ask for Stoffer, Disosway and myself whenever he actually got a command of his own. He states that he will probably get the 13th Air Force but he appeared that that was in the future. He went o n to state further that as far as he knew now that there was no vacancy in the Bomber Command there for me so I guess you can rest easy my dear for it looks very much like that this is my war station for a while to come. I promise that I will do nothing towards trying to get a combat assignment for the present. What comes in the future will have to take care of its self. I am available, they know where I am, and what I can do so it is up to them now. His letter was interesting with a lot of incidental dope that I can not repeat but rest assured things look very favorable. We have the Jap on the run out there. Its tough going but we are improving each day and the Jap is going the other way. He says that this is very apparent in their operations. We are doing the dictating and have the initiative.

I see that my plane in SA left there day before yesterday so I hope that the picture and miniature are aboard. Roberts is in GMC today so I should have it almost at once as he can bring it back with him. Oh boy.

Loads of love to the girl that I adore,

Edwin
