Weds. Morning

October 16, 1946

My darling Fran:

Well I wonder how my sweets is this lovely morning. I’d sure love to be there to greet you good morning in person. Honey yesterday John R. got us ration cards to go on the gift train so in the afternoon Jim and I went down to see what they had. Although I didn’t get much it still cost me $13.50. I bought you a robe of some sort but I’m not sure if its what you had in mind. Anyway its pretty nice all white silk with colored embroidery on the back and its about ¾ length. I also got two pretty silk hankies, a white silk scarf, and two rolls of 120 film. Jim got about the same I excepting he bought a bolt of white silk. Last night a Brig. Gen. Came into camp so they made last night dinner night instead of tonight. Jim and I went to the Jap theatre to see “Professor Beware” which I think I older than I but nevertheless it passed a couple of hours time. After the show we came back, played 500 rummy awhile then had something to eat before going to bed. I’m anxious to know if you received my two money orders so dear let me know at once. Jim is going to Takamatsu today with our mail and I have hopes that he’ll bring some back with him. Henry hasn’t returned from the dentist because his teeth were good compared to mine and he’s been gone since Sat. night. Honey I wish you folks back home could have some of the stuff we have over here that you can’t get back home. All I read about is the meat shortage at home. I don’t know about the rest of the troops on the islands but I do know we have more meat than we know what to do with. About the only thing we don’t get plenty of is fresh potatoes. We are getting all sorts of fresh frozen vegetables. By the way yesterday when we were picking up our rations I was able to get weighed and your honey weights 174 so you can see I’m about the same as when I left you. These other pictures I am enclosing is the rest of the film that I sent you a couple of days ago. Well dear before closing I must remind you I love you more than anything in the world and always will. I love only Fran and I don’t want anyone else but Fran so dear be a good girl. Give my regards to your mother + dad, Geo. + Blauch, and all our friends. Keep writing dear.

                                                                                    With all my love,

                                                                                    Your honey always.
