Weds. Morning

4 Sept. 46

My Darling Fran:

I’m not sure whether this letter will make sense or not but I’m still in a whirl from last night. Vin, Henry, and I were invited to the British last night. They moved the regimental dinner ahead so Cad and the Doe are expected to leave today so they were officially “dined out” of the mess and twelve new 2nd Lt. Were “dined in” the mess. They couldn’t invite us for the dinner as there wasn’t room but they insisted we come for the party afterwards. We really had a swell time doing all sorts of crazy things. First of all we had a song feat that was before anyone had too much to drink. As the evening progressed and we had more to drink the party got rougher. Jack and Vin put on a judo match then Jack and I put one on, they had us diving through the rafters on stacks of pillows and of course they made us Americans do likewise. I gave my ankle a hell of a crack on one of the rafters and today I’m limping around on one leg. I also broke my watch strap but I think it can be fixed so darling you can see it was quite a rough evening but still it was a swell evening with a lot of clean fun. I didn’t have any sun tans that were cleaned so I wore my “greens,” boy what a hit they made. Everyone wanted to know where I was going all dressed up. Vin is going to Oakawater this morning that is if he ever gets out of bed so tonight I’ll have plenty of mail to read. One of these days I’m going to have to start and do some work especially since Ganaka has gone home. You are no doubt under the impression that I’m having one good time over here well dear being with the British helps pass the time and they are a swell bunch of boys give me my honey back and then I’ll really be satisfied. Honey I love you and that’s all I want, is to get to you just as soon as possible so honey be a good girl and I’ll be there just as fast as the army will leave me. Give my regards to your mother and dad, Geo and Blanch, and all our friends. I love you dear so be good. How about some more pictures.

With all my love,

Your honey forever.
