Friday morning

My darling Fran:

Well how’s my darling this fine morning. You may be reading one of my letters at this very moment. Well last night all the boys went to Mayer’s for a party. The CO wanted one fellow to stay back so since I wasn’t in any drinking mood I volunteered. I called Jack and Reds to come down so I wouldn’t have to eat supper all by myself. They came down at 6 o’clock so we had supper, drank a few beers, played ping pong, and talked. The other boys returned about 8 o’clock and was Vince ever drunk. He managed to drink two Japs under the table but while he was working on the third he got a little too much. He got sick in the bargain from mixing beer and “sake” so I’m very glad now that I didn’t go. We put him under the cold shower then straight to bed. Jack and Reds stayed until 11 o’clock then I took them home and went straight to bed. I wrote to Verna yesterday afternoon and I sill owe my mother and George a letter. I sure wish I was home so I wouldn’t have to both with this letter writing because as you know dear I don’t particularly like to write but then I know what mail means to me so I just have to write to you because mail means the same to you. I didn’t have any mail this week yet but that’s because no one went to Takawatsu on Weds. Vince is going tomorrow so I’m sure we’ll have some when he returns tomorrow evening. I got a very pretty silk Jap naval flag from Tanaka last week. It makes quite a nice souvenir. I haven’t gotten anything else other than the stones I told you about. I am still patiently waiting for some pictures but I guess my honey has forgotten me. You know dear I send you pictures about every week but no more until I get some from you. Well darling I guess I’ve told you all the news and given you [edited for content] in the bargain so I’ll bring this to a close and start doing some work. Honey even though I gave you [edited for content] I still love you more than anything in the world and I always will. Its you dear and only you that I love. I’m well pleased with my honey and I don’t want anyone but Fran—forever. Give my regards to your mother and dad, Geo. And Blanch, and all our friends.

                                                                        With all my love,

                                                                        Your honey always.

P.S. DEAR I LOVE YOU SO BE  A GOOD GIRL AND KEEP WAITING.
