My darling Fran:-

Sorry dear I didn’t write last night but we invited one of the British Officers over for dinner and after dinner we played bridge and drank beer so it was quite late when we finished and I was tired as we had a big day completing our moving. We finally have everything moved including the office but still have lots of straigtening up to do because the Japs are still finding things to do to keep the place dirty and upset. Everyday we find something else we want done such as a shelf here or there, a screen door here, put up a clothes line, etc. so from all indications it should be at least two weeks before everything is just the way we want it. Yesterday of course we ate our first meals here and it was really some different setting at a table to eat, among this there are many other comforts we are enjoying such as beds and showers. Today Jim and Paul worked on the report and all I did was try and straighten things up a bit so the place would look presentable. I hung three pictures, placed some flower pots here and there, did some dusting and sweeping so you can see honey I’m going to make you a good husband when I get home, now don’t go getting ideas dear. This old fellow thats doing our cooking is proving O.K., we’re getting soups, and roast and pretty soon we will get him on the ball baking us some pies. I’ve just learned I have to go to Takamatsu to get paid tomorrow. It makes me mad as hell to think I have to go get paid when I don’t need it, I could just as well be sending it to you to bank. I’ll just save it and when I come home I’ll cash it in. After supper tonight Mike & I went over tot he ball park to get our daily exercise, worked up a good sweat then came home and had a lovely shower got dressed and took a little ride to see what the Japs might be up to. Our friend from the British is going to visit us tomorrow night and guess what he’s bringing, brandy, scotch, and champagne so I guess we’ll all we waking up with hang overs Sunday morning. I’ll try and get a picture of this fellow, Jack C., and send it to you but please don’t fall in love with him because he’s certainly a handsome boy (only 21) but he’s sure been around. He’s a 1st Lt. lives in England, unmarried, about 6 ft. and built like Don Hauser. Well anyway darling I think you’ll still stick to your honey. I’m sticking to you because I love you and only you – forever so I’m positive you feel the same way. Honey we are going to have some fun, a good time when I come home as we both have been without any activity so we can catch up on lots of things, how about it. Give my regards to your mother & dad, Geo. & Blanch, and all our friends. Remember darling I love you more than anything in the world.

                                                                                                With all my love,

                                                                                                            Your honey always.

P.S.

            Don’t forget the picture.
