My darling Fran:

Just returned home from Wada where we seen a U.S.O. show. Wada is about 20 miles from here, it’s where the 11^th 7a Bu. is located. The show was very good it was a colored band with three girl singers, one dancer, and a colored dance team. They certainly had plenty of talent. It was good to see a stateside show even if it was colored. I didn’t do too much today. I spent the morning writing up my reports from the previous days investigation and this afternoon I spent reading over various reports and information. We left right after supper for the show, there were four of us that went. I was just showing my darlings pictures to a couple of the girls we have here doing our house work. Those few pictures I have I’ll bet they looked at for at least half an hour. They think (and I must agree with them) that you’re very pretty they also think you have pretty legs and very nice clothes. I assure you its all new to them because you very rarely see any Japanese women in western dress and when you do it isn’t much to look at because they can’t afford pretty clothes that you American girls have. We got our weekly rations from the P.X. today. We got 1 carton of cigarettes, 16 bars of candy, 4 packs of gum, 2 cakes of soap, 1 tube of tooth paste, and I bought myself a knife. So I have plenty of candy and cigarettes for the next week. There isn’t much sense in my writing every day and telling you how much I’d like to be back home with you but I must tell you because no one understands better than my darling. Honey I love you and I’ll always love and like I’ve said before when I get home its going to be a long time before I leave you out of my sight so when I let you know I’m coming home you’d better tell “Doc” you’re taking a couple of weeks off, one to catch up on certain things and one to recuperate. Well darling my eyes are getting heavy so I’ll close until tomorrow night. PLEASE be a good girl and I promise to do the same for my darling. Give my best wishes to your mother & dad, Geo. & Blanch, and all our friends.
