My darling Fran:

Today was my first investigation. The C.O. sent me out this afternoon with an interpreter to interview a Jap. Boy if I didn’t have a fancy time working through an interpreter, gibber-gabber for ten minutes and don’t say a [edited for content] word worth while listening to. Although I didn’t gain much information I had a nice ride and it was a beautiful day. I might add I had a flat tire on my way so that helped add some humor to my trip. Remind me when I get home I think I’ll buy us a “jeep” they are cute little gadgets to run around in. Guess what dear I’m learning to play “bridge”. The two lieutenants are regular bridge fans so if I’m to find something to pass time I must learn to play bridge. When we move in our new house we will have a pool table and a ping pong table so that will help occupy my evenings. Tonight is bath night so I’m going to chisel some of the dirt off. We can only take baths every other night. They take baths here in a peculiar way; first you stand outside the tub and wash yourself real good then rinse off then you get in the tub. The water is so [edited for content] hot in the tub that its very similar to a Turkish bath but when you get out you really feel like a new person. I wish my honey was here to wash my back and my –. I haven’t received any mail since I’ve been down here but as before one of these days I’ll have letters galore, I hope. Still haven’t seen any trace of your packages. I hope by the time you get this letter that you have received my two checks $14. & $60. Also the dollar bill. That dollar will buy my honey a bottle of cologne. Well my darling I don’t have much to write you tonight so I’ll close and be back again tomorrow night. Don’t worry dear I’m not closing without letting you know I still love you more than anything in the world and always will so please be good and wait for me. I can’t wait until I get home so you’d better be there waiting. Tell your mother & dad, Geo. & Blanch, and all our friends I said hello. Hoping this letter finds all of you in the best of health. How about of couple of new pictures dear.

                                                                                    With all my love,

                                                                                                Your honey.
