My darling Fran:

As usual honey I just finished playing poker and believe or not I won back what I lost last night. Haven’t received any mail from my honey in the last few days but it might ease your mind to know I did receive the wrist watch. It’s very nice and I’m pleased with it but if I get the opportunity I’m going to have a new face put on it. Today we had school all day although I manage to skip out early so I could get my hair cut. After school went down town to the P.X. and bought what little I could get then Stan and I went over to Ernie Pyle’s, had coffee and doughnuts and proceeded home. Started playing poker right after supper and just finished about a half hour ago. Tomorrow is Army day and has been declared a legal holiday so there will be no school therefore no exams until Monday. They are going to have some sort of parade but I don’t know whether I’ll see it or not it all depends what the gang decides. At present they want to go over to the Tokyo stadium and play baseball so if the weather is O.K. that’s probably where we will be all morning. While I’m thinking of it I wish you’d get Milt some sort of birthday present as I haven’t seen a thing over here that he’d be interested in. As a matter of fact I can’t even buy a birthday card so I guess I’ll have to send him a wire. If I have my dates right I think his birthday is this month sometime so please get him a little something. I certainly wish I had a nice camera because I’d like to send you lots of pictures from week to week. Every time I have someone take pictures of me or for me then they get moved. Bill B. has several and he said he’d see that I got a complete set so if he ever sends them I’ll forward them to you. Well dear I know these letters don’t contain much news and are rather short but it’s the best I can do. I suppose you know I love you more than anything in the world and I miss you just that much so be a good girl and wait for me. Give my regards to your folks, Geo. and Blanch, and all our friends. Once more honey, I love you. Keep writing everyday.
