My darling wife:

Well dear, here’s where we start another month, so if time keeps passing as fast in the future as it has in the past, I’ll soon be back home with my darling. Yesterday was a wonderful day in more ways than one. It was beautiful out, just like spring. Secondly, the mail man left me six letters from my honey, one from Verna, also the picture of Judy and Richard. Everyone thought they were so cute and for awhile I had them believing they were mine. I certainly wish I had two just as nice as them- I’d more than likely stand a better chance of getting home quicker. Yesterday morning we had classes as well as our first exam. It was quite tough but I think I passed O.K. In the afternoon I just hung around the hall, played catch with Sankey for awhile, then Stan and I rode downtown had coffee and cookies at Ernie Pyle’s, then returned for supper. In the evening we had a “jeep” ride to the outskirts of Tokyo, but since it was dark we couldn’t see anything, so we returned early and played poker until bedtime. This morning I slept late; I didn’t even get up for breakfast. This afternoon I played poker awhile, then laid down about 2:30 and didn’t wake up until supper time. This evening Morlini, Wilkens, and I went to Army Hall to see “Kitty”- it was pretty good. When I returned I kept Stanley company for awhile as he’s on C.Q. tonight. Wednesday nights I’m in charge of Quarters. There’s nothing to do on C.Q. but someone must be in the Orderly room all the time. You said in your letters that mother didn’t like it because you were going to the “Vets” and Mackey’s, well all I can say dear is, if your being a good girl and staying true its perfectly alright with me. Don’t get the people talking back home because you know how they are. I’m sure I can trust my dear so I won’t worry too much about it. I love you and I want you to keep yourself ALL for me, I can promise I’m doing that much for you, dear. I’ve told you before and I’ll tell you every letter if necessary that I love you and I want only you. You’re with me every day and every minute so please be good dear. I’ll write again tomorrow, so until then, keep the mail coming. Give my regards to your mother and dad, Ges. And Blanch, and all our friends.

With all my love,

Your Honey
