Thursday

My Dear,

As I told you yesterday, Uncle Clifford came and we’ve had time for little else but talking. This afternoon we went over to Richmond to see the folks he drove from Anderson and to get on some clean clothes. Then from there we went over to San Francisco, where we rode on the cable car, and messed around. Around 6 we ate at “True Blue” Cafeteria. By the time we finished, it was dark – so we decided that, rather than to spend our time at a show, we’d walk around – we finally ended up in International Settlement, looking at night club signs. We went in the “Hurricane” and had one whiskey sour & watched The Hula Girls perform! You’d have enjoyed that! Came back to Berkeley around 11:30 – read & went to bed. I have been sleeping with the lady next door and this weekend, she is in Sacramento visiting. More tomorrow.

            As ever your sweetheart,

            Berna Lou
