My Dearest Darling Wife,

Hello sweet little angel how is my darling little wife. Awful, awful sweet I know and fine I hope. You had better be dolly. Gee darling I received three of the sweetest letters from you yesterday evening and gee but I was thrilled to get them dearest. They were so darn sweet and precious, just like all your wonderful letters are dearest. I also got two from the folks, one from Moe V. Pey and one from another of my buddies that went home. Yours was the fifteenth, seventeenth, and nineteenth darling so that is pretty good time. Gee darling your precious letters mean the world and all to me and they are so darn sweet. They make me so awful darn happy dearest and make me feel so wonderful all over It just gives me the grandest feeling when I can get your wonderful letters Honey. Gosh Honey, you hadn’t been getting my mail [for] a bit good but I sure hope you are now dearest. Honey dear you are so darn sweet and I love you so awful, awful much.

I am feeling fine now dearest and getting along alright in every way now. I have plenty of everything now. Well it sure has been an awful day here Honey. Rained all day long and a strong wind most of the time to. It has been raining since night before last and it is still at it. Sure hope you are having some nice weather at home now dearest. Still on the day shift Honey and it sure was awful today. About half wet all day long and everything was so wet and muddy. I guess tomorrow will be the last day shift before I star on the night shift again.

Received a really nice letter from one of my old buddies Honey and was sure glad to hear from him. He stepped off the train in Denver, Colorado just seventy-six hours after he got off the boat. Boy that is sure fast time. He said he was about twenty-four hours at Angel Island and then right on to Fort Logan, Colorado, that is his induction center. Boy I sure do hope I can make time like that when my time comes. He took a few tough from here ‘cause his father just passed away in January and he thinks he might get out on a dependency discharge. Sure hope he has some luck. He said he was going to drop you a card but I don’t know whether he will get around to it or not. It sure is nice to hear from all the guys and we know just about what to expect when I get back to the states dear. None of the boys has ever said how many days there furlough but I guess it is still the same, rotation twenty-one and the furlough from here thirty. That sure is a few days to give a guy after he has been gone so darn long.

Honey you wrote me about getting some furs like you was going to get some time ago. Darling if you want them you know your husband wants you to have them. If you think you would like them dearest and think that they will stay in style for a little while I think it would be swell dear. Honey you know your husband wants you to have any and everything you want and whenever you want it. I want you to be the happiest little wife in the world darling and Honey I am sure going to make you that to. Those look real nice where you sent me the ad out of the paper dearest and darling if you get them I want you to get exactly like you want. So now darling it is all up to you, what ever you want to do. Gosh Honey you are such a perfect little wife and I love you so awful awful much. Gee darling won’t it be wonderful when we are in each others’ arms and can go with each other to get all our own clothes and be with each other to wear our clothes for each other. Honey dear you are such a perfect dresser, so much pride and gee but I am so proud of you darling.

Gee darling I am sure glad we decided on the Pickwick for our meeting. It will be so much better for the both of us dearest and we will really feel at home in our own hometown. I wrote you about saying that you were going to meet me somewhere else and then meet over town dear and we can do that if you want to or just say we are going to have a room on the Missouri side. Whatever you want to do about that is perfect by me dearest. We are going to spend our time to ourselves no matter whether they know where we are or not and when ever we get ready to go out to your folks or my folks and where ever it may be we will go dearest and when we want to come back we will. If we don’t keep our room all the time we will just go and get us a room when we want to and then leave when we want to and then get us a room again whenever we want it. We would try different hotels that way too Honey and I think that would be a lot of fun. But our first week or so is going to be the Pickwick and that is the most important part now ‘cause we can finish deciding on the other when we get together dear. You said you heard over the radio that the Continental was two and a half a day. That isn’t a bit bad I don’t think darling and I don’t think the Pickwick will be much above that ‘cause the Continental is really a good hotel I guess, highly advertised anyway. Honey we sure do want to get on the eleventh or twelfth floor, it seems so much nicer up high like that. Gee darling we have everything all settled now and it is all so perfect. Honey I’ll bet this is going to be our main subject in all our letters till we get in each others’ arms, ‘cause it means so awful darn much to us dearest. Honey I want you to be sure and write me any new thing you might think about and I’ll do the same dearest. Honey our time is coming and it is so wonderful to know that every day is so much closer to our time. Darling be sure and take wonderful care of your beautiful robe and gown now, oh gee darling you are going to be dressed so heavenly for me.

You are so awful sweet dearest and I love you so awful darn much and dear you know I always will. You are so darn sweet and so precious in every way dearest. Honey we are so happily married and love each other more every day. Sweetheart I know God hears our prayers and will watch over us and protect us and bring us together as soon as possible now. Please take wonderful care of my precious parts Honey, gee but they are so wonderful and I love them so darn much. Yours are fine dolly, miss yours so darn much but they will be together before long dolly. You are the sweetest and most adorable little wife in this world angel and I love you so darn much and you know I always will dolly.

Well I guess I had better close for this time and I’ll write you as soon as possible now dearest. I’ll be looking for your precious letters now dearest. Please be awful, awful careful now dearest and take wonderful care of my sweet little wife. Remember now dearest, chin up and always happy. Tell all bills dear.
