My Dearest Darling Wife
Hello precious little dear, how is my darling little wife. Awful awful sweet I know and fine I hope. You had better be dearest. Well Honey no sweet letters so far today but I am sure hoping that some will come in before the day is over. I sure do hope that the mail keeps coming in good now dear. Honey your precious letters mean the world and all to me and they are so darn sweet. They make me so awful, awful happy dearest and make me feel so wonderful all over. Gosh Honey it gives me the grandest feeling when I can get your precious letters. Just makes a different person out of me dearest. Gosh Honey our letters mean so awful awful much to us. A person can’t realize how wonderful letters are until you are away from the one that means the world and all to you, then they mean everything dearest, just like ours do now. You are so darn sweet dearest and I love you so awful, awful darn much.
I am feeling fine now dearest and getting along all right in every way now. I have plenty of everything now dearest. Well Honey it is a pretty nice day here but gee so awful darn hot. Boy this heat sure does get a person. Gosh darling it will be so heavenly when I am back in your sweet arms and back in a white man’s climate. I sure hope you are having some warm weather by now dearest ‘cause I know you will sure welcome it. I am going to be in your sweet arms next winter dearest and we will really enjoy the winter weather. Well dear I am still on the day shift but I guess we will change in the next day or so.
Darling I received your letter a day or so ago in answer to mine about rotation or furlough and Honey I am so glad you think that I am doing right. It is awful hard to decide on dearest but I really think the rotation is the best. Honey I know that our prayers to God will make the right decision for us. We are both praying so awful awful much that he will help us choose the right one dear and I know He will dearest. Honey you was saying that girl at the office her husband could of taken furlough and gotten home a lot sooner but he waited for rotation. Most all of the fellows are waiting for rotation darling ‘cause any one that has been here two years or more sure don’t want to come back if there is any way to keep from it. Most of the fellows that are taking furloughs have some idea that they might get out of the army on their health or age or dependence on something like that and then not have to come back. It is my idea Honey that a fellow is a lot better off to wait a few more months for rotation and take the chance of not coming back than to take the furlough and know that he is coming right back over and will have to spend another two years or so over here maybe. Even if the war ends in a year or so there is going to be an army of occupation and a guy might get stuck for a year or so with that. There isn’t a fellow anywhere in this world that wants to get home any worse than I do darling but Honey I sure think it is way the best to wait and take the chance of staying home and not having to leave you any more dearest. Things are going good on all the fronts now dearest and Honey I really don’t think Germany will last so much longer if they can keep going now and when that war is over I believe a fellow with as much time over as we have will really have a good chance of not having to come back. Then I don’t think it will take long to get Japan after Germany folds up and if I should happen to be lucky enough to be in the states when it is all over maybe I could get in on some of the first discharging and get out of this thing for good and back in your precious arms for good darling. We wouldn’t be able to enjoy ourselves near so much if I came home on furlough and we knew that I was coming right back over dearest. I don’t know but what I will be able to take rotation as soon as I will furlough but I told you just like we were told dearest ‘cause I always want you to know just as things are. I never say anything about it at all to anyone else darling but Honey I always tell you everything I hear. That’s our dream of months and months dearest and the day we have been looking forward to for so long. We are on the down hill grade now darling and I know our day is coming before so very long dearest. I know God hears our prayers dearest and will keep us safe and bring us together as soon as possible dearest. We will be so darn happy dearest and everything will be so heavenly.
Honey you said in your letter you wrote last Sunday that you had really enjoyed yourself that afternoon. I’ll bet you did really get a lot done dear with no one around and it seems like a person can concentrate so good when you spend a few hours by yourself. I know sometimes the guys go to the show and I stay here and write my sweet little wife and gee darling I can think so good, gee but its wonderful. A persons mind is so clear and nothing to distract your thoughts when you are by yourself like that Honey dear you said you had just finished your bath too before you started writing me. Gee but what I wouldn’t of give to been there with you darling. You would of let me helped you with the bath wouldn’t you darling, yes sir Honey. There would have been more than that going on to I betcha dear. Gosh Honey won’t it be heavenly when we get our little apartment and then our little home and we are to ourselves and can do whatever we want to and whenever we want to. We’ll never be out of each others sight dear, no matter where we go or what we are doing we will be right together. On Sunday afternoons like that dear if we don’t go out we can be working around the house or if we just want to rest we will be right there in each others arms, dressed real comfy and so cozy in our little home dearest. Gee but we will be happy Honey and everything will be so heavenly.
Honey dear you are so darn sweet and I love you so awful awful darn much, and you know I always will dearest. You are so darn sweet and so precious in every way dolly. Honey you are so awful awful pretty, just a perfec t little wife in every way dear. Gee darling won’t it be heavenly when we can hold each other so awful tight and kiss each other so often. Honey dear please take wonderful care of my precious parts, gee but they are wonderful and I love them so darn much. Yours are fine dolly, miss you so awful darn much, You are the sweetest and most adorable little wife in this world dearest and I love you so awful, awful darn much and you know I always will dearest.
Well sug I guess I had better close for this time and I’ll write you as soon as possible now dearest. I’ll be looking for your precious letters now dolly.
