My Dearest Darling Wife,
Hello sweet little angel, how is my darling little wife. Awful, awful sweet I know and fine I hope. You had better be dolly. Gee darling I got the sweetest letter today and I was so darn thrilled to get it dearest. It was so darn sweet and precious dearest, just like all your wonderful letters are. It was January the fourth dearest so that was really good, only about nine days. There was only a couple of letters dear and I got one and gee I was so darn happy. Your precious letters mean the world and all to me dearest and they are so darn sweet. They make me so awful, awful happy dearest and make me feel so wonderful all over. Gee darling it gives me the grandest feeling when I can get your wonderful letters. You had received four letters from me the day you wrote this letter dear and I was so darn happy to hear that darling. Sure hope you are getting my mail all right now dearest. Honey dear you are so darn sweet and I love you so awful darn much.
I am feeling fine now dearest, and getting along all right in every way. I have plenty of everything now dearest. Well Honey it has been a pretty nice day here and I sure hope it continues to stay nice now. Sure hope you are having some nice weather now dearest and not to cold. Well Honey I worked from noon today until six tonite and go back to work at six in the morning. I just got in and had supper and got cleaned up dear and it is after eight now dear. Boy I am sure tired tonite. Boy I sure did get muddy the last two shifts. We are working on a new road now and there is real thin much all over it and some places over your shoe tops. Boy I sure have dirty clothes from the last two days but we have plenty of laundry facilities now. The natives do it and we have our own laundry to.
Well honey you was saying you was talking to Earl Duderstadt and he wanted my address. Boy he has sure been lucky to stay out of all this and be there making all that good money. I thought sure he would be married by this time but I guess he is still looking for the right girl. Wouldn’t like to hear from him all right. I haven’t been writing to hardly anyone just you and the folks dear. I sure am ashamed of myself for not writing Mae and Peg for so long. They write me almost every week and I haven’t written them since before I left the Admiralties. By the time I do my work though and get a little sleep and my meals, I don’t have any more than time to write you folks. And then there isn’t hardly a thing to write about to anybody cause this is just the same old thing and nothing new ever going on. I guess everyone realizes how it is though.
Honey you was telling me about some of the girls having their addresses changed for their government check when they moved and the checks stopped coming. Yes Honey when ever you have the least little thing changed on anything like that it takes about six months to go through all the red tape to get it changed. I am sure glad you didn’t have it changed dear cause as long as it comes through all right with the old address it is all right. Boy it takes the army forever to get anything changed like that. I guess they just have so awful much to do, so many men in the service. But now dearest if it ever stops you be sure and let me know and them to and if it is on account of the address or anything it might be, you will get ever month you miss in a lump sum. I don’t think you will ever have any trouble though dear cause you got it all right this time.
Honey dear you are so darn sweet and I love you so awful, awful darn much and you know I always will dearest. You are so darn sweet and so precious in every way dearest. Gosh Honey we are so happily married and love each other more every day. Won’t it be heavenly when we are in each others arms and can hold each other so awful tight dear and kiss each other one time right after another. Honey dear I know God hears our prayers and will keep us safe and bring us together as soon as possible now. Dearest you are the sweetest and most adorable little wife in this world and I love you so awful darn much and you know I always will dolly.
Well sug I guess I had better close for this time and I’ll write you as soon as possible now dear. I’ll be looking for your precious letters now dolly. Please be awful, awful careful Honey and take wonderful care of my sweet little wife. Remember now dolly chin up and always happy. Tell all hello dear.
