My Dearest Darling Wife,

Hello sweet little angel, how is my darling little wife. Awful, awful sweet I know and fine I hope. You had better be dolly. Gee darling I received two of the sweetest letters from you yesterday and I was so darn thrilled to get them dearest. They were the twenty second and twenty seventh of December dear so that was pretty good. I also got two letters from the folks dear. Gee darling your precious letters mean the world and all to me and they are so darn sweet. They make me so awful awful happy dearest and make me feel so wonderful all over. Gosh Honey I sure hope you are getting my letters all right now. Won’t it be heavenly when we are back in each others arms and won’t have to write letters any more darling. Honey dear you are so darn sweet and I love you so awful, awful darn much.

I am feeling fine now dearest and getting along all right in every way now. I have plenty of everything now dearest. Well Honey it has been raining off and on now for about three days and it is plenty wet and muddy again. Sure would like to see it clear up now and stay nice for a few days. Sure hope it isn’t to awful bad at home now dearest. You said in your letters yesterday it was five above zero. I’ll bet your legs were almost froze waiting for the bus dear. Gee darling it will be so darn wonderful when I am back and we have our little car and a nice heater in it and won’t have to worry about the weather in any way. Gosh but I wish I could be there with you now dear and could keep you warm in every way and all the time dearest. We will be so awful, awful happy dear and everything will be so darn swell Honey.

Well dearest two years ago today was the last time I saw the good old United States. Gee but what a two years this has been, away from my darling little wife, away from everyone I ever knew before and always wondering what the next day might bring and so many other things that a person goes through. It has been so awful hard on you to dearest, working so hard doing everything by yourself, doing without the pleasures of life and all the other things like that dear. We have so much to be thankful for darling and without God this would of all been so much harder on us dear. He has answered our prayers dear and done so many wonderful things for us. It is so darn wonderful to know God and be able to go to him for help dearest. This is going on twenty-eight months now since we last saw each other dearest and gee but it seems like that many years. It would of all been so much harder on us if we hadn’t of been married darling. We have been so darn happy knowing that we really belonged to each other dearest and that the minute I was turned loose from here we could be in each others arms for ever and ever. It has all been so darn hard on us darling but the longest part of our waiting is over now and we will be making up for all this lost time before long now. I am hoping and praying so much dear that this rotation will pick up so I can be in your sweet arms before this year is over. Surely there will be big enough quotas to get these guys home and I can get started before this year is out dear and I hope several months before this year is over. We had some guys start home yesterday Honey and one of them was going to spend part of his furlough in Kansas city and he said that if he got time he would call you up and let you know that I was well. I have been with him ever since I got in the outfit Honey. He is a kind of old fellow Honey, this is not old but older than most of us in his thirties I guess. He sure is a nice fellow and I know you would enjoy talking to some one that had been with me for the past two years. I guess the only folks he has is a sister and a brother and they both live there in Kansas City. His sister lives out in the Woodhaven district and his brother lives out on Me Gee somewhere. They say a lot of the fellows go back to Frisco now and just spend a few days there and then they send them right out to the camp nearest their home and they get their furlough from there. If he should happen to call you dearest ask him what procedure he went through. I sure would hate to get there on Angel Island and then have them send me right on from there to Leavenworth and now be able to get over to Frisco and you be there and wouldn’t know where I was dear. Gosh a person sure never knows what to do or what you are going to do in this army. So Honey you ask him if he calls and I will find out everything I can and let you know about what I can find out. Some of the guys will be writing back after they get home I guess. Won’t it be a heavenly day when we can walk into each others arms dearest after all this time apart. Honey it will be one of the happiest days in our life. Just think darling every day that goes by now is one day closer to that heavenly day to. Darling you have been so wonderful to me through all this, gosh Honey I’ll never be able to repay you for all you have done for me. You know I will do everything in any power to make you the best husband in this world darling. Gee but you are so perfect dearest, the sweetest and most precious little wife in this world.

Honey dear I was so darn happy to hear that you got the hundred dollars before Christmas. Only wish that Christmas card that I had Mother send me would of gotten here. I have never got the card yet honey, guess it must of got lost. The rest of my packages must of to. I saw a piece where the postal clerks in Frisco got all the mail for us in and then refused to send it out until they got more money. That was the Christmas packages. Boy I’ll bet if they put some of them in the army and send them over for a year or so they would straighten out. Honey I sure hope you get you something you want with the money I sent you. I want you to have any and everything you want darling. I love you so darn much dearest and want so much to make you the happiest little wife in this world dolly.

Honey dear you are so darn sweet and I love you so awful, awful darn much and you know I always will dear. You are so darn sweet and so precious in every way dear. Gosh honey we are so happily married and love each other more every day. It will be so heavenly when I can hold you so close to me dearest and we can press our lips together and just stay that way as long as we want to. I know god hears our prayers and will answer them and keep us safe and bring us together as soon as possible dearest. Please take wonderful care of my precious parts Honey, gee but they are wonderful and I love them so darn much dear. Yours are fine dear, miss you so darn much Honey. They will be back together before long though Honey and gee but I’ll bet we make up for a lot of lost time in a hurry. Dearest you are the sweetest and most adorable little wife in this world and I love you so darn much and you know I always will dolly.

Well sug I guess I had better close for this time and I’ll write you as soon as possible now dearest. I’ll be looking for your precious letters now baby dear. Honey please be awful, awful careful now and take wonderful care of my sweet little wife. Remember now angel, chin up and always happy. Tell all hello dear.
