My Dearest Darling Wife,
Hello sweet little angel, how is my darling little wife. Awful awful sweet I know and fine I hope. You had better be dear. Well dolly no sweet letters today but I got an awful swell package from you dearest. Gee but I was happy to get it darling. Honey your wonderful letters mean the world and all to me and they are so darn precious. They make me so awful darn happy dear and make me feel so wonderful all over. Gosh Honey I sure wish our mail would start coming in. It seems like we would get some of our new mail but it just isn’t coming in. I guess there is to many other vital things that they are flying in on the planes. Maybe after things get straightened out a little then the service will be better. Gosh Honey your precious letters give me the grandest feeling. I sure hope you are getting my letters all right now dearest. Honey you are so darn sweet and I love you so awful darn much.
I am feeling fine now dearest and getting along all right in every way. I have plenty of everything now dearest. Well dolly it was a pretty nice day here today. Just one day of good weather and the mud dries up pretty good where it isn’t so bad. Gee but I would like to see it stay nice now. I sure am tired of this weather. Sure hope the weather isn’t bad at home dear. It would be so wonderful if I was there in your sweet arms dearest and helping you keep warm. We wouldn’t care what kind of weather it was if we was in each others arms darling. We will be so darn happy dear and everything will be heavenly when we are back in each others arms and can really start our life together.
Honey the box I received today was so darn swell and I am enjoying it so much. It was the nice assorted box with the swell fruit cake in the center dear and then the candy and the cookies on each corner and the cute little bottles of marmalade in the ends. I haven’t cut the fruit cake yet but I have been eating on the rest of the swell things. I gave my buddies some too and they sure did like it dear. The box came in good shape too honey and every thing was swell. Gee darling you are so darn wonderful to me and send me such swell things. I sure wish I was able to send you something darling and I am hoping and praying so much that I can be back in your sweet arms by this time next year dear and then I can get you something to make up for some of these last Christmases. I sure hope I get the rest of my packages all right now darling. Honey you are so darn sweet and the most perfect little wife in this world.
Well Honey this time eight years ago we were having our first date. I am pretty sure it was the eighteenth of December, but I’m not sure. I know it was right in that vicinity of the month. I know we had that one date and then one more before Christmas. I took you home from a basketball game on a Friday night before our Christmas holiday started, remember dear. Gosh Honey I never will forget that first night. It sure was an awful night, but we wasn’t letting any thing stand in the way of our first date. Isn’t it funny the way two people like us meet darling. We were really meant for each other dear and we are both so thankful to God for bringing us together. I was so awful darn happy that night dear and from that day on our happiness has been so complete with us having each other dear. I remember that we didn’t have any date over the Christmas holidays and I wasn’t able to see you every day like when we was going to school and Gosh Honey I thought that week would never go by. I used to get to school real early in the mornings so I could see you as soon as you got to school dear and then I would be so disappointed when you would miss a day dear. I remember you missed two or three days there when Roy and Ruth got married Honey, I believe that was before we had our first date. We have been so happy through all these eight years Honey and now for over two it has been such a wonderful happiness knowing that we really belonged to each other dearest. Gosh darling we are so happily married and love each other so awful darn much and we always will too dearest. Won’t it be swell when we are back in each others arms darling and can talk over the old times, just like we used to.
