My Dearest Darling Wife,
Hello sweet little angel, how is my darling little wife. Awful, awful sweet I know and fine I hope. You had better be dearest. Well dolly there was some mail in today but none for me. It was all late mail too with the new address on it. I guess mine will be along in a day or so. It seems like they have an awful time getting the mail sorted and straightened out here but I guess they will have the post office pretty well organized in a few weeks now. Gee but I hope I get some sweet letters tomorrow and you have heard from me Honey. I know you feel so awful when you don’t hear from me dear and I want you to be so happy all the time darling. Honey dear your wonderful letters mean the world and all to me and they are so darn sweet. They make me so happy dearest and make me feel so wonderful all over. It gives me such a grand feeling when I can get your precious letters dear. Gee but I hope you are getting my mail all right now Honey. Dearest you are so darn sweet and I love you so awful, awful much.
I am feeling fine now dearest and getting along all right in every way. I have plenty of everything now darling. Well dear it is raining here today, the same as usual. It just seems like it has to rain almost every day. Gee but I would like to see it stay dry for a little while. I sure hope you are having some nice weather at home now darling. It will be so darn wonderful to breathe a good cold, brisk, air again. Cold weather seems disagreeable sometimes but when you are away from it for several years you can sure realize what you are missing. The winters used to be hard on us dear but now they will be as wonderful as the other seasons will. We will be so cozy in our little home darling and we can go out when we want to and really be able to enjoy the winter weather. We will be so darn happy dearest and everything will be so heavenly.
Darling here is a little Christmas present for you. It isn’t much dear but the money is all I can send you cause there isn’t a thing to buy here. I want you to take this hundred dollars and spend it on yourself dear. Get anything you want to dear, anything so it will make you feel like I really got you something for Christmas. Gee but it would be heavenly if I was there in your sweet arms and could get you something real nice like I want to dear. I know you realize how it is now dear and you know I will make up for all these Christmases you have done without when I get back in your sweet arms. I sent for a Christmas card for you darling and mother mailed it to me when I was still in the admiralties but this move and the mail all tied up I haven’t received it yet so I guess I won’t be able to send it now cause it would never get there in time. I was going to clip this money order on it and send it dear, hoping that maybe it would seem more like a Christmas present to you. But I haven’t even received the card yet so I am going to send the money to you dear, hoping that you will receive it by Christmas so when anyone asks you what I sent you, you will be able to tell them and I know it will make you happy to dear I don’t suppose you will get this in time to get yourself any thing by Christmas dear but whenever you get it I want you to have anything you want darling. Honey you know I always want you to have any and everything you want. I want to make you the happiest little wife in the world darling. I love you so awful, awful much dearest and you mean everything to me dear. It makes me feel so awful wonderful and so darn happy when I can do something for you dear that makes you happy in any way. So dolly with this little money I am hoping you the merriest Christmas and happiest New Year that you could possibly have while we are so far apart. We are both hoping and praying so much that we will be in each others arms by this time next year dear and surely this rotation will work out by then. And Honey the Christmas tree should bear you a little gift or two that comes from me in a round about way and I sure hope you like them too darling. I am hoping so much that this and these other little things I just mentioned will make you happy in some little way on Christmas day dearest and with them comes all the love in the world Honey from your husband to the sweetest and most wonderful little wife on earth. Gee but you are precious dear and I love you so darn much.
Honey you was saying that you and Noels had dinner the other evening and then went to the show. Sure glad you had a nice time dear. You said that Jude wouldn’t let you pay for anything dear. He is really a sport like that and they are sure a nice couple to go out with. You said that you went up home and stayed all night dear and took a cake up and you all had cake that night. Sure glad that you get to go out like that dear. Gosh Honey won’t it be so wonderful when we are back in each others arms and can go out when ever we want to and go where ever we want to and do what ever we want to. We will be so awful, awful happy and everything will be so heavenly dear.
You are so darn sweet dearest and I love you so awful, awful darn much and you know I always will dear. You are so darn sweet and so precious in every way Honey. Gee darling we are so happily married and love each other more every day. Dearest it will be so wonderful when I can hold you so awful awful tight and kiss you one time right after another. I know God hears our prayers and will keep us safe and bring us together as soon as possible dolly. Please take wonderful care of my precious parts Honey, gee but they are so wonderful and I love them so much. Yours are fine dear miss you so awful darn much.
