My Dearest Darling Wife,
Hello sweet little angel, how is my darling little wife. Awful awful sweet I know and fine I hope. You had better be dearest. Well dearest no sweet letters so far today but I am sure hoping that some will come in before the day is over. This makes about four days now since we got any mail so we should be getting some right away now. Gee darling your wonderful letters mean the world and all to me and they are so darn sweet. They make me so awful, awful happy and make me feel so wonderful all over dearest. Honey I sure hope you are getting my mail all right now. I sure hope that my next letters will tell me that you have heard from me dearest. Honey dear you are so darn sweet and I love you so awful, awful darn much.
I am feeling fine now dearest and getting along all right in every way. I have plenty of everything now dearest. Well darling it isn’t raining right now but looks like it might start any minute. I sure would like to see it stay dry for a little while but I don’t suppose we will see much of anything but wet weather for the next couple of months. Sure hope you are having some nice weather now darling and sure hope it isn’t to cold sweat. Well Honey today is payday for us, first one we have had for two months. I suppose you got paid yesterday Honey on account of getting off for the Thanksgiving holidays. We get paid in Filipino money here. This makes a different kind of money we have been paid in the last three paydays. This money is based on Spanish type money. It is pesos and centavos. A peso is one hundred centavos and equals fifty cents in our money. The bills run one, two, five, ten, and so on about like ours does. The coins run about the same as ours only they just equal half as much. The coin the size of our half dollar just equals twenty five cents. Boy I sure ought to be able to use any kind of money when I get home.
Well today is Thanksgiving day honey or at least I suppose everyone is celebrating the last Thursday in November. Gosh Honey what I wouldn’t give to be back there in your precious arms today. We would be so happy and enjoying ourselves so much dear. This is our third one to be separated darling and we are both hoping and praying so much to god to have us in each others arms by this time next year. It has all been awful hard on us dearest but we have so much to be thankful for. First of all we have each other darling which means the world and all to us. We can’t be together right now but we know that we really belong to each other and will be back in each others arms before long. We both have good health darling and all of our folks to and so many many other things that God gives us and watches over us. It would be swell if I was there to go to church with you this morning dearest. Gee darling it is so wonderful to know God and be able to go to him will all your troubles. He has kept us so safe in the past years Honey and in good health. The things we are going through now we need him so much and have to call on him for help so many times. On this Thanksgiving Day we have so awful many things to thank him for darling. I sure hope you have a swell time today Honey and I know a wonderful dinner. I never will forget the wonderful Thanksgiving dinner you fixed the last year I was home dear. Gee but you are a swell little cook dear and I am so awful darn proud of you. We will have so much more fun on all the holidays now dear cause we can be together all the time, doing everything together and whatever we want to do. I am sure glad you get these four days off Honey cause you can sure stand the rest. But we would both be busy if I was home dear, busy holding each other and kissing each other and other things yes we would I betcha dear. That would be wonderful rest for us though, wouldn’t it dear. Honey dear it will be so heavenly when we are back in each others arms and can spend every minute of our time together. This time three years ago we were really happy over a certain thing to darling. We announced our engagement the following Sunday after Thanksgiving. We sure was doing a lot of talking about it and planning three years ago today and gee but we were happy about it, wasn’t we dearest.
Sure hope this finds you feeling swell and everything going along all right in every way at home dear. Sure hope your work isn’t to heavy now dearest. Please take it easy now darling and don’t work to hard and take wonderful care of y adorable little wife. I will be so happy when I am back in your sweet arms and can take wonderful care of you in every way dearest.
Darling you are so darn sweet and I love you so awful, awful darn much and you know I always will dear. You are so darn sweet and so precious in every way dolly. Honey dear it makes me feel so wonderful to see your precious little lip prints on my letters. Twenty six months now since we had a kiss dear but I’ll bet we haven’t forgot how, right Honey. Gosh Honey our first embrace will be so heavenly, a dream of over two years come true. Darling I know God hears our prayers and will answer them and keep us safe and bring us together as soon as possible. Please take wonderful care of my sweet little wife dear and my precious parts. They are so wonderful and I love them so much darling. Yours are fine Honey miss you so awful much. You are the sweetest and most adorable little wife in this world dearest and I love you so awful, awful much and you know I always will dear.
Well sug I had better close for this time and I’ll write you as soon as possible now dearest. I’ll be looking for your sweet letters Honey. Please be awful, awful careful sweet and take awful, awful good care of my darling, honey. Remember now dearest, chin up and always happy. Tell all hello dolly.
