My darling Jeanette,

Well sweetheart I am away on a trip for a few days on business and am writing you from there. I came up by airplane and will come back in a few days. Have been a little busy since arriving here but had a chance to go to a show last night at the officer’s Red Cross club here. The picture was “Time to Kill” with Lloyd Nolan-a detective picture. At ten this morning I am going to an English Episcopal church here with a British Brigadier (several). I shall be way glad I do so as I haven’t been in an Episcopal church since England last fall. The plane ride here was very uneventful. I read and visited with some new air corp officers coming here on the way.

Now to answer a letter or two which I brought along. Yours of July 27th #15 read Aug 8th. Am glad Katherine and Dan and your grandmother read the letters I sent. Will write some other folks when I have time. Will be careful in the letters I write to yours folks not to not to mention personal things I write to you, as you said. I read your grandmother’s letter the other day, alas one from dad written July 31st. Hope Miss Trotter does not leave you at the office. Your letter of July 28th, #16, read the 8th also. Glad you got the notice of allotment changes. I am surprised to get a wedding present after almost 8 years from Bishop Longley. Thank them for me. Our war bond purchases have been fine dear. Keep it up. Would you send me a good snapshot of me for Brunet’s as they wish one?

That is all I have to answer now, but I talked with my officer this morning and Maj. Duskin said I had some mail there. I just returned from church (11:15). There was a morning prayer service and then communion. It was wonderful to be able to go to an Anglican Church once more. I was so thankful to be able to, dear. Se I must close. I’ll write as soon as I can again. I love you, sweet heart, and miss you as much.
