My darling:

This is just a few lines to let you know I received my first letter from you today in quite a while.  It was your letter # 7 written October 15th.  It certainly seemed good to hear from you as I had received no letters since our anniversary and written on Sept. 20th.  I am missing the first six letters for Oct. but they will probably come along before long.

You asked about letting the yard go until I return.  That will be all right under the circumstances, so long as it is in rough graded and smoothed down and rolled in the spring.  I would go ahead and have the plants reset this fall or in the spring though if I were you.

I sent you a cable Monday giving my current address except it should read “Hq.” instead of “Sct.” as above.  I wrote you yesterday also by airmail.  You might send every other letter by V-mail as some of them come through faster than airmail sometimes.

I haven’t done much to write you about since I was in London last week.  Sunday I went to church.  I’ve written to Grandma Cook, Grandma Klock, Grandma Westcotts, Aunt Sadie, Grandpa Klock, Jack and Jim, Dorothy, and Dad and Mother yesterday and the day before so I’m gradually getting caught up a little with my correspondence now.

Darling, I send you all of my love and kisses, wishing only for that day when I can tell you again how much I love you.  With all of my love

                                                                                                                        Carlton
