            Subic Bay, Luzon, P.I.

My Dearest Darling,

Well my sweet here it is the twenty second of December and my birthday, twenty two on the twenty second not bad huh! I don’t feel a bit over seventeen but they tell me that I am older so I sound older in my letters honey!

See what I wouldn’t give to be at home today!! This being Sat. and my birthday I could think of a million things to do. I could even enjoy the evening up at Hershey at a hockey game and “you”, how about you?

The Coast Guard didn’t lower their paints any yet so they are still at ‘40’ but the Navy is down to “36”. I still have high hopes of being home in March though it will probably be pretty cold in the good old U.S. but I think I can take it. You can furnish the heat with your Armstrong heater hon! I heard a lot about them but I never knew how they worked would you please let me in on the secret sweet!!

Christmas is only three days away but being out here in this climate doesn’t make it seem quite possible. I hope you have a swell time over the holidays honey because I always want you to have the best and nothing but Buddy Don is here with me writing letters and he said I should say hello for him and that you shouldn’t forget that trip to White Plains and Glenn Island!!! It’s a date hon.

It is very hot out here again this afternoon but I guess I’ll almost freeze again tonight what weather!!!!

At the present we are here at the water dock taking on water so I as usual am taking it easy. When I get out of the service I have to find a nice soft job or else!!!

Darling, I guess I better close for now but I will write again tomorrow. Be sweet hon and dream of me.

                                                                                                Always Yours,

                                                                                                          Genie
