Dear Ollie:
Was very glad to recieved your card. And hear that you are enjoying yourself. I hope that this letter finds you in good health. I am feeling quite find.
Your mother is feeling just the same but she is now starting to get use to not having you arround.
I recieved a letter from Bill Walthers last week and he has been Transfer, to Weston Field Massachusetts. 6 th Anti – Sub. Sq. I will inclose his letter.
I having been able to get together with the boys yet over the magazine as my Boss had a another baby (I mean His wife) and he has hardly been around the show at all for the past two weeks. Which means that I hav’nt had any days off for two weeks. But the first change I get I will get in touch with them through your mother and see if we can’t knock out and editoion [edition].
Excuse the typing and spelling, but this is my eight letter today and my finger are sorted tired and don’t act like I want them do. Then do I was never a good speller.
I had an interview with my draft board last Thursday morning and it looks like I will be leaving very shortly. Probably in two weeks. I am trying to get a vacation the end of this month. I hope I succeed as I would like to visit all of my family before going in. But even if I get my vacat ion [vacation] I don’t thing I will be able to visit all them. As Total train fares come to over a $100.00 and I don’t know whether or not it is worth it.
They are starting to cal [call] back in a lot of “B” & “C” gas rationing books. I think that by summer they will prohibted praesure driving. Butter milk, can goods etc. are all going to be rationing starting March 1, 1943. Clothes and shoes will be next . “ll [All] in all I think it is better to be in the service then out of it.
Bob Walthers has been t ransfer [transferred] also but I don’t know where yet.
I understand that Stanly was shipped south to Tenn. Do they realy keep you fellows very busy. Everybody that I have heard from claims that they hardly have anytime to think or rest.
Well That’s about all for now their just isn’t any more.
I will write again soon and let you know when I am leaving for the Ar my and also any local news that might come up.
Yours for an early VICTORY
Arthur Jensen
