Hi Ollie,

How’s everything with you! There isn’t much doing around here except home work and more home work. My ankle still bothers me but I hope in a few more weeks I’ll be able to run again.

I wasn’t able to dig up any news for the magazine as I haven’t been out very much but hope to, for the next issue, have something to report.

I just received the “Christian Boy Magazine” today and enjoyed it very much. I read Volpert’s letter and he sure must be having a swell time at Galena with all the sports, skiing, sleighing and skating just a few but from his house. I wouldn’t mind living there myself.

I just heard from Specok’s mother telling me that he went to Wisconsin with some other fellows. His mother was rather worried and wanted to know if I had heard from him, which I have not. He probably got the same urge that you did when you went out west.

It really has been cold here in Chicago for the last 4 days. It was below zero and our water system froze but we were lucky and it thawed out.

How is the weather down in Georgia? I suppose it’s nice & warm!

Now that Christmas is just around the corner I suppose you see a lot of Christmas trees around. Here in Chicago we see plenty of them but at tremendous prices. A tree that last year would have sold for $1.00 us selling for $6.00 and even higher, but they will soon have to come down for there are more trees this year than we had last year. (Been hoping anyway).

The old neighbor hood isn’t the same without you and the “C.B.L” around but after this war is over (and I hope soon) will all get together and have a swell time.

I meant to ask, you when you were in last time, if you had heard anything from the Gillespies who used to live on Kedzie Avenue remember! I’d like to get in touch with them again. If you hear anything about them let me know.

Well I guess I’ll be signing off until I write again.

                                                            Your Friend ,

                                                                                    Bill Ronney

P.S.

Happy Christmas Ollie & a Happy New Year.
