Dear Ollie:

Sorry I haven’t written to you sooner but you know how letter writing goes. My brother is in Australia now, he a Staff Sergeant. I went to Lake Geneva last week and had a swell time being bitten by chiggers, jiggers or whatever you want to call them.

Nothing has changed around the neighborhood.

Gee it’s hard to find anything to write about that would be of interest to you. I went to see a game between the Cubs and Reds. The cubs got beaten. Their score was 1 run 6 hits 5 errors. So that puts them down another game toward 4th place. I started taking first aid three weeks ago yesterday so I could be a messenger. It’s a very interesting course.

Well I guess that’s about all from Chicago write as soon as you can.
