Dear Ollie,

This is the first chance I had to write you for a long time; my school home work keeps me quite busy! And by dag, I hate it.

I’m sure sorry I missed you Ollie, when you came home on your furlough. I didn’t here about it until you left; but what I heard! Alise are you getting as you would call it plump? That’s had if you keep that up you won’t be able to keep the boys in place (they will run all over you. Tah tah) only looking Ollie but you better watch yourself around the waist. Sure glad to hear that you like your work Ollie, that’s the best thing that could happen to anybody, to like the world they do.

The weather is swell in Chicago; we’re getting the broker this year, my mother is going to write a few lines.

Hello Ollie how have things been with you within the past year? We are all in good health and working 48 hrs. a week here. We are having ideal weather just like spring even enough rain to make a spring day. How do you like the army? And does it agree with you. It won’t be long before Jack will be eighteen and he is anxious but not so with me as he is only a kid- one more day behind his ears. But I only hope they will let him graduate this June. Will write you a longer letter next time and wishing you godspeed and best of luck I am.
