Darling Hubby:

Do you like the sweet names I use for you, Honey?  They’re not just words.  I hope you really take them serious because they are used with true meaning.  How is my sweet Hubby feeling?  No other mail has come to your father or to me and I am so worried that you’re not as well as I hoped.  I do hope you will be soon sent home and I’ll keep you healthy by cooking good meals for you, keeping a nice place cozy for you and above all give you the tender true love I have for you and you alone.  I’ll do all I can to make you happy.  Sweetheart, I’m waiting patiently.

Your Mom, my Mom and I went shopping out in Oak Park tonight.  My Dad took us out there and we came home by “L”.  We got your Dad’s gifts from you and me and a baby shower gift for Emma Seidah’s sister, Lydia.  Lydia and I are not going to the shower because it falls on the same evening as your Dad’s birthday, namely tomorrow, Nov-2.  You and I gave Pops two shirts, a tie, a pair of garters, box of cigarette smoking tobacco and a pair of house slippers.  Mom and Dad Roth have also been invited for dinner.  They also got a little gift for him- a black leather belt with an initial buckle.  I do hope he will be pleased with his gifts.  I sent a good versed birthday card tonight and got two others to be used with his presents.  I got the cutest baby gift tonight- a little clothes hamper in blue.  It’s just too darling for words.  Just big enough for the little things.  It was very clumsy to carry home.  Your Mom came home with us and we made coffee and had a bite to eat.  After your Mom left, I wrapped up all the gifts with pretty paper and ribbon.  My eyes are getting droopy but I did want to write my Honey a letter today even if it may be a bit short tonight.  You won’t mind too much will you?

I noticed in tonight’s paper there’s a notice that all 60 point servicemen are eligible for discharge now.  Honey, I’m going to find out from your Dad what he has thought of our idea as was advised at the Tribune.  The sooner we get the matter done, the sooner it will help you get released.  Oh Honey, you’re on my mind constantly.  I daydream all day long.  I just can’t get you out of my mind for a single moment.  I really miss you, Sweetheart and I must admit, I’m very lonesome for you.  I pray this finds all going real well for you and please don’t forget, Sweet, I love you.

Good night, My Love-

God bless you, Hon.

The best of luck to you.

Your Baby,

Emily “Kiss”
