Dearest Sweetheart:

How’s my loving Honey feeling today? Fine, I hope. I’m feeling fine too and everyone else seemed to be the same. I was disappointed again today. When I came home from work today, there was still no letter from you. I would like to think there’s a good reason for not having written, such as you coming closer to home each day. Then before very long you would be right here with me. I’m just going to pray and hope for that. Darling! Good luck is bound to befall us real soon. It’s just got to.

My plans for tonight had been changed 3 times. First of all I intended to spend a quiet evening at home, then Mom said Lydia called the doctor today due to slight hemorrhages due to attempted pregnancy. Since Monday, she has had slight bloody discharge and no doubt it got worse. Johnnie came in from work to help Dad take inventory of all items in the station. I planned then to go out with John and the folks would come out later. Well, I called Lydia and she sounded quite weak. The doctor told her to stay in bed until Friday, if not longer but she is to call him then and tell him what is what. In the meantime Vivian called and asked me to go to see a murder mystery. I invited her to come along to Lydia. When Dad came up, he looked so weak and sick. He said he just couldn’t go out. I’m so afraid he’s near a nervous breakdown. Dad wanted us to take the car and drive out by ourselves but somehow I felt we shouldn’t go so I had to call Lydia again. After I told her the story, she asked me to come out some other evening. She has the phone at her bed; therefore, calling her is quite handy. Vivian came to the house and we decided to go to the show. I certainly have made up for all the movies I have missed in the past months. I stopped at your folks on my way home from work. I thought they might have received word from you but they said “no”. They were both jolly and hopeful you may be on your way home. I’ll keep my fingers crossed. If only it will be true – you’re coming home –

The glass tops for the bedroom set came today. The one doesn’t fit so well and I’m going to call Mr. Coars tomorrow and tell him about it. It certainly does improve the appearance. It brings out the beauty of the grain in the wood. The 3 pieces of glass cost $1750. It was a little high to my estimation and that’s why I feel I should call and complain about any unsatisfactory part of the work done. I’m sure Mr. Coars of the furniture house will be as accommodating as before. Won’t it be fun to go out to buy furniture? Have you still saved those pictures of tables at Carcan’s? After you get home, perhaps we should get a subscription to “Better Homes and Garden.” We enjoyed that magazine, didn’t we, Sweet?

I’ll say “good-night” now. Dearest – Please keep well and remember I love you very much. I’ll be waiting, Darling, with open arms. Please, come home soon. All my Love to you -----

Lovingly,

Emily “Kiss”

Good luck Honey

P.S. Enclosed 1 poem. I like it very much.
