Comrades:

We really intended sending you a “snack” box. Unfortunately, the supply is limited and selections not very appetizing. Instead it was decided to divert the proceeds to a “Smokes” Fund.

While cartons are not obtainable we feel sure cigarettes can be obtained at your local canteen. We sincerely hope so. May you have the pleasure of a puff and with it our thought of appreciation for your efforts to a brighter future.

Recent visitors to the old camping ground were:

Colonel Leo Reed from the South Pacific

                                    Sergeant John Cross from Canada

                                    Sergeant Carl Nygren from Virginia

                                    Corporal Bill Jennings from Texas

They are all looking fine and are in good shape. Do not forget to step in when you are in this “neck of the woods.”
